Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na…in one word, awesome. The story based on a group of college friends who is narrating the story of their 2 friends to a newcomer to this gang. Joy(Imran Khan) and Aditi(Genilia) are best friends in college. They share each things to each other. So, everybody thought they are in love(except them!). After college farewell party, Aditi’s parents ask Imran about his thinking of marriage with Aditi. Then, both of them strongly disagree that they have any affair. They clearly mention that they are only good friends, nothing else. Then, they decide to search for real life partners. In a disco, Joy find Meghna(Manjari Fadnis). He starts to spend time with her. Aditi get irritated and jalousie as she now does not get time time from Joy as she wishes. Aditi also get engaged with Sushant(Ayaz Khan). Joy and Aditi meet in a friend’s b’day party with their respective partners. Then they realize, they are made for each other. The climax is like typical Bollywood love stories. They both break the relationships with Meghna and Sushant. Aditi waits for Joy, but after not getting any reply, she starts for New York. Joy starts to go to Aditi’s home to propose her, but instead go to jail for beating Sushant as Sushant beat Aditi. At last, he get released and go to airport. They meet and propose each other.
The movie is mainly for youngs. The acting of Imran Khan reminds us about young Aamir Khan. He has the capability to stay in Bollywood. Genelia D’Souza also acts naturally s all of the friends in the group. Amit(Smita Patil and Raj Babbar’s son), leaves his mark by hatred and jealousy. Joy’s mother(Ratna Pathak Shah) also is very good. And specially Naseeruddin Shah, as Jai’s father is as usual spontaneous. Paresh Rawal as inspector Waghmare is also excellent in his small role. But, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan as Ballu and Bagheera bhaiyya respectively are wasted.I think, there was no need to bring these two characters. As a whole, the movie is pretty watchable.
My rating: 4.5/5
