Brett Lee Retiring From Test

Again a shock..Brett Lee has retired from test. After Andrew Fintoff and Jacob Oram, another great player retiring from test to play one-day and t-20.Its pathetic.People are not understanding the value of test cricket.Mainly for money, they are going to one-day and t-20.If this continues, we need to worry a lot about future of test cricket.Lee was a wonderful bowler.I will not tell he was very good bowler, but was ok.And unlike other Australian players, he was less egoistic I guess. His behavior was good on the field. He has taken 310 test wickets from 76 tests at an average of 30.8.If you think that he played maximum tests in Australia where pitches suits mainly first bowlers, this average is not that much great. But his speed was very good. He didn’t sacrifice his speed for anything. He did the 2nd fastest delivery at a speed of 99.9 miles(160.8 kms per hr).The most memorable event people remember is his frustration after loosing Edgbaston test by 2 runs.Fintoff consoled him that time.To take his decision also, he took advise from Flintoff.May be for this time also Fintoff consoled him for retiring so early.Anyway I wish him all the best and do well for one-day and t-20.Will miss you in test cricket mate…

That’s true test crickrt is the field where the quality of a cricketer is decided. But in this context I think Lee is not retiring from test cricket only for making money from one day and t-20.Being a popular international player obhiously he knows the value of playing test.Actually to play test one player must be 100% fit and his physicall tenacity must be high.I think Lee took the decision for only age factor, may be he realised that his fitness won’t allow him anymore.

I think Brett has considered about money also. If he continued to play test, there is more chances to injury and chances of missing one-day and t-20, means missing more money for playing test.I am not telling this is the only reason, but obviously one of the reason.
