Indian Hockey team has failed to deliver again.They have lost 2-5 to Spain.Before that the have lost by same margin against Australia.We have won against Pakistan and almost everybody thought that we have won the world cup.Everybody forgot that the rankings of Pakistan and India is far behind top teams.So, we have lost against Australia whose world ranking is 2 and Spain whose ranking is 3.The result what happened is what had to happen.There is no infra structure of hockey in India.Only cricket,cricket and cricket.No good sponsors.The national players don’t get paid also in time.What a shame.And after all of this, we are expecting our guys to win matches against top teams!We just don’t have any right to expect that.In Australia students get scholarship for every sport.Actually in initial stage itself, in schools, students has to decide in which sports he is interested.Then based on that they get scholarship.That’s why they are so accurate.If we want to complete with them or want to go that level, we must change the infrastructure according to them.Then only we should expect some really good results from our boys.Otherwise, Indian hockey will be in same position.May be we will get some wins against poor teams, but that’s all.We have to be satisfied with that only.
